- At the 2024 Guangzhou Auto Show, BYD’s Dynasty Series introduced its brand-new model, the Xia MPV. This marks the debut of BYD’s “Xia” brand within the Dynasty lineup, with the vehicle positioned as a mid-to-large luxury MPV. It is expected to hit the market in the first quarter of 2024, with a starting price in the $40,000 range.
Sleek Exterior Design
The Xia MPV embodies the Dynasty family’s signature “Dragon Face” design language, delivering a modern and premium aesthetic. The front features a large grille adorned with chrome accents, adding a touch of elegance and sophistication. Above the grille is a silver trim piece with the BYD logo, enhancing the vehicle’s luxury appeal.
Interior Inspired by Chinese Heritage
The Xia MPV’s interior is a masterclass in incorporating traditional Chinese cultural elements. Drawing inspiration from the courtyard design concept of “Four Rivers Converging into a Hall”—symbolizing wealth and prosperity—it features design touches like hip-and-gable roofs, wide sleeves, wooden steps, and Chinese knots. Two interior color themes are available: Warm Brown + Cream Beige and Muted Green + Cream Beige.
Cutting-Edge Interior Features
The cabin boasts a fully digital instrument cluster, a large floating center control screen, and an entertainment screen for the front passenger, creating a tech-rich environment. Convenience features include wireless phone charging, dual cupholders, and a storage shelf below the center console. For second-row passengers, BYD has included fold-down entertainment screens, small tables, multi-functional buttons, and even a car refrigerator.

Measuring 5,145 mm in length, 1,970 mm in width, and 1,805 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,045 mm, the Xia MPV offers a spacious and versatile interior. It supports three seating configurations: Family Comfort, Executive Luxury, and Solo Relaxation.
Advanced Smart Cockpit
Equipped with the DiLink 150 Smart Cockpit, the Xia MPV runs on BYD’s custom AI chipset, which boasts a benchmark score of 1.15 million points. The system enables seamless multimedia integration across the central screen, front passenger screen, and roof-mounted screen. Additional entertainment options include
gaming controllers and
AR glasses for next-level interactivity.
The vehicle debuts BYD’s proprietary “DiSound” 28-speaker sound system, delivering cinema-quality surround sound. Combined with the rear ceiling-mounted screen, passengers can enjoy a true home-theater experience.
High-Tech Safety and Driving Assistance
The Xia MPV comes standard with the
“Divine Eye” advanced driver-assistance system (DiPilot 100). This system features 31 high-precision sensors, including 5 millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, and 14 HD cameras. DiPilot 100 supports features like
highway navigation,
intelligent parking, and emergency braking.
Hybrid Powertrain and Suspension
The MPV is powered by BYD’s
5th-generation DM hybrid technology, combining a
1.5T gasoline engine (115 kW max output) with an electric motor (200 kW max output). For ride comfort, the Xia MPV integrates BYD’s Cloud Chassis-C intelligent damping control system, ensuring a smooth and luxurious driving experience.

The show car was equipped with Michelin Primacy 235/60 R18 tires paired with dual-tone silver and black multi-spoke wheels, emphasizing the Xia MPV’s high-end and regal aesthetic.
