Dennis Schröder, the German point guard who once led his national team to World Cup glory, has been tossed around like a hot potato. In just three days, multiple teams gave up on him. He was first traded from the Golden State Warriors to the Miami Heat, but before he could even board a plane, he was rerouted to the Utah Jazz. From there, he was sent to the Detroit Pistons, making him a true NBA nomad on the verge of being forced out of the league.
It’s hard to believe that just a few years ago, Schröder was the undisputed leader of the Atlanta Hawks. Even after leaving Atlanta, he was bold enough to turn down a 4-year, $84 million contract from the Los Angeles Lakers, believing he could secure an even bigger deal.
